inlingua Malta teachers are trained and qualified as EFL practitioners and true to its view of English as a world language, the school maintains a balance of native and non-native teachers on its staff.
In addition to the basic EFL training, some teachers have chosen to specialise in teaching English for Specific Purposes, and other teachers offer their expertise and knowledge of specialist subjects to cater for the growing demands of the EFL student. inlingua Malta is therefore able to offer specialist courses such as Business English or Technical English, in addition to general English courses.
A variety of teaching methods are used at inlingua Malta, but the prime concern of the school is to create an environment conducive to a communicative and practical approach to language learning. Students are encouraged to develop their language skills through a balance of different activities such as chairing/participating in discussions, roleplays, extracting information from listening/reading tasks, writing reports and pair/group work as well as practising new structures of English through controlled and free practice.
In particular, inlingua Malta subscribes to the inlingua Method, which seeks to amalgamate the best of the tried and tested theories and approaches in the TEFL sector.
