If you plan to study English in Malta for more than 105 days, or if you intend to work part-time during your stay, you may need to apply for a student visa before your arrival, depending on your nationality. This guide will help you understand the process and improve your chances of success.
Note: While inlingua Malta can assist with the visa process, approval is not guaranteed and depends on individual circumstances. The visa application should be started at least 10 weeks before your arrival, with 12 weeks in advance recommended.
Step 1: Book Your Visa Appointment
You must schedule an appointment at a Visa Application Centre (VAC) in your home country. You can book it online independently or request assistance from inlingua Malta for a small fee. This service includes document review and VAC appointment scheduling, and costs EUR 45.
Find your country-specific link on VFS Global.
Visa Fees
- EUR 150 for urgent appointments (close to travel date)
- EUR 100 for standard appointments (well in advance)
- An additional mandatory fee of EUR 150 is charged on the day of the appointment by the Visa Application Centre
Important: These fees are non-refundable.
Step 2: Prepare Your Documents
Carefully gather and complete all required documents. Missing or incorrect paperwork can lead to application refusal!
For visa application purposes, inlingua Malta will provide a Visa Acceptance Letter to confirm that you are a prospective student. To issue this letter, the school must receive 25% of the course cost, as this is a requirement when applying at your local Visa Application Centre.
Please note that, in most cases, when applying at your local Visa Application Centre (VFS), you will also need to present a receipt showing full course payment. inlingua Malta will issue the full payment receipt once the course has been paid in full.
