Gozo Creative Theatre Club and Fondazzjoni Santa Ċeċilja A.D. 2013 – in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo and the Malta Tourism Authority – will be organising ‘1551 in Concert’ on Saturday, 30th July 2016 at the Citadel in Victoria, Gozo.
This concert will revive the story of the invasion of Gozo which took place in July 1551 where the Ottoman Empire attacked the Citadel following an unsuccessful attempt to conquer Malta.
Two choirs, a live orchestra and soloists will perform under the direction of Antoine Mercieca. The concert’s author is Joseph W. Psaila while its artistic director is George Mizzi.
