Academic English Foundation Year Programme

This long-term Academic English Foundation Year Programme in Malta is designed for international students who want to improve their English for university entry, academic study, work, and global opportunities.

The course provides structured progression from beginner to intermediate level English, with 8-week Cambridge English or IELTS exam preparation (students can choose) included at the end of the programme.

Students benefit from studying English in Malta in a multicultural environment in Sliema, one of Malta’s most vibrant cities, with small class sizes, regular progress testing, and personalised academic support throughout their learning journey.

The programme is available in two options: 30-week and 40-week programmes. Both include Cambridge English or IELTS exam preparation (students can choose), the exam registration fee, course materials, and student support services. Accommodation and visa assistance are also available for an additional fee.

Start Dates

• 30-week programme (recommended for B1 students): 3 August 2026 (March 2027 Cambridge exam) or 2 November 2026 (June 2027 Cambridge exam)
• 40-week programme (recommended for A1/A2 students): 17 August 2026 (June 2027 Cambridge exam)
