Father’s day at inlingua Malta
Father’s Day is celebrated worldwide to recognize the contribution that fathers and father figures make to the lives of their children. This day celebrates fatherhood and male parenting. Although it is celebrated on a variety of dates worldwide, many countries observe this day on the third Sunday in June. However Father’s Day in Malta happens on the 15th of June on Sunday.
Father’s Day provides children with the opportunity to express their love and respect for their fathers by writing a personalised card.
For this special day, at inlingua Malta we will give our students the opportunity to express their love to their fathers through special activities throughout the day.
History about Father’s day
It all started from Sonora Louise Smart Dodd, in 1909. She listened to a Sunday sermon about Mother’s Day, and she wanted to let her father know how special he was to her. So, she decided to celebrate Father’s Day on the birthday of her father.
Father’s Day is celebrated all around the world, for example people in US and Canada, people honor grandfather, stepfather, foster father, uncle or men who play the Father figure role in their lives. In Canada, people wear roses to express love for their fathers during this day.
