Tomorrow is a public holiday on the island of Malta. However, many foreigners enjoy the day off without knowing what is celebrated.
March 19th is the Feast of St Joseph, spouse of the Virgin Mary. Many churches around Malta will celebrate St Joseph tomorrow but if you would like to participate in the celebration, Rabat is the place to be.
In Malta, this day is known as “Nhar San Gużepp”, many people go to Church in the morning and then go for a picnic in the countryside. In Rabat, the day ends with an evening procession with the statue of Saint Joseph.
