Surely we all understand that learning a language takes time! But are we ready to spend enough time learning a language? Can we do it alone? And if it takes time to learn a language, how do we make sure that we can remain motivated to learn and improve?
Set clear goals!
When learning a language SMART goals are essential! You will ultimately have 1 overall goal. For example, to learn a language to travel and speak to different people from around the world. But, this goal can be divided into milestones which help you achieve that goal.
Each milestone can have several aims to reach it to help you get one step closer to the ultimate goal. Here at inlingua Malta your language trainer sets SMART goals every day! But you can do this as well. Smart goals are S-pecific, M-easured, A-greed, R-ealistic and T-ime bouned.
Create a study plan!
Creating a plan of study will help achieve your SMART goals set. How many hours do you need to reach a milestone? How long will it take? When are you going to do it? Find a great planner template online, set your study plan and go!
Have the right learning materials ready!
Now that your plan is in place it’s time to find the right learning materials. There are excellent learning materials out there but you may get a bit confused with the plethora of available content. When following an inlingua language course all this is done for you across a great blend of materials. These include books, online learning platforms and audio material. Find a mentor!
Ask a friend about their experience of language learning. Did they get external help? What methods did they use and where did they find great people to help them along the way? Sharing your experience with others means that you will automatically communicate more! This will keep you motivated to achieve and improve!
Here at inlingua Malta we’re in the business of getting to know your language aims and goals to set you on the right path. Speak to our course advisors today on info@inlinguamalta.com so we can help you reach your goals today!
